STEP FOUR: Online Training
Welcome to our online training modules. We are so excited to begin this journey into mentoring with you. We recognize that the content of the new mentor training can be heavy, raw, very detailed, and sometimes overwhelming — we do not take it lightly that you’ve given us your time to invest in learning. Take these training modules at your own pace (approximately 3 hours) and know that we are here to support you along the way. So while these pieces are online, you are always welcome to reach out to us if you need anything at all.
In these modules, we will cover:
- Allies history
- Why we mentor
- The mentor team
- Human Trafficking
- Trauma 101
Module 1
Allies History, Mentorship Program and Team (15 minutes)
LINK
Module 2
Before we can understand how to best support survivors of trafficking through mentorship, we must first take some time to understand trafficking itself; what it is, and what it’s not. In this video, we will take some time to share what sex trafficking looks like here in Indiana, what makes the girls we work with vulnerable to trafficking, and how the community can identify and support survivors.
Take notes to refer back to and process. At the end of all of the modules there will be space to submit questions and key learnings.
Introduction into Human Trafficking (35 minutes)

Module 3
This training will give you a basic overview of trauma in relation to your mentee and to you. We cover what trauma is, how it affects our brains and bodies, and how we can heal. We encourage you to take good care of yourself during this training–get comfortable, grab a warm drink and a cozy blanket, grab a notebook, and give yourself plenty of time and space.
Below you will find an attachment for when prompted to complete an exercise.*
*You will not be required to bring it with you to training, but we strongly encourage you to take the time to do it!
