The Global Gifts store in Nora welcomed our mentees for a truly special evening, inviting each mentee to select up to $75 worth of items at no cost to them. But the most impactful part of the shopping experience wasn’t just about receiving items—it was about choice, autonomy, and connection.

As a fair trade nonprofit business committed to creating sustainable economic opportunities and safe, equitable working conditions for disadvantaged artisans and farmers around the world, Global Gifts offers a wide variety of jewelry, home goods, toys, and food items (check out their website to learn more!).

Throughout the evening, mentees explored the store, discovered items that reflected their interests and personalities, and made their own purchasing decisions. For many, the opportunity to exercise choice and express their individuality was just as meaningful as the gifts themselves.

The event also created space for joyful reunions between mentees, mentors, and coaches who hadn’t seen one another in some time, filling the store with laughter, connection, and community. The staff at Global Gifts – Nora created an atmosphere that was warm, welcoming, and empowering, and we are so grateful for the unique experience they provided for our mentees.
