Driven by our creative passion, we want to be people who persevere. Knowing that both hardship and joy will be a part of the journey we will remain steadfast. With drive and determination, we will graciously move towards finishing that which we started. We want to be known as people of commitment.

In the Allies Mentorship Program, we have seen commitment in mentoring friendships look like showing up when you say you will, remaining steadfast and loyal to your mentee even when it’s hard and life gets busy, and believing in and dreaming with your mentee to help them reach their goals.
The Allies Mentorship Program is designed to match youth survivors with a mentor for 18 months, providing support and resources to equip the match to eventually take on a natural mentoring relationship. Brittany and “B” have done just that.
At our recent LinkUp! Event for matches in our program, we had the chance to catch up with Birttany and B, who have been friends for over 3 years, and have now graduated from the formal program to “alumni” status. Brittany and her mentee, B, are a super fun and inspiring match. They’ve been alumni for over a year, yet they are still doing life together as mentor and mentee, or as B would say, as BEST friends.
During their time as an active match, they would get together to do scavenger hunts, go roller skating, walk in the park, eat McDonalds, and talk about life. As they did these things, they were committed to getting to know each other and they’ve done that while having a ton of fun, too! It hasn’t always been just about fun though; B says Brittany has been a great support to her during some tough times in her life and has walked with her as she changed her mind from pursuing becoming a veterinarian to a therapist.
Brittany says B has always been an impressive person to her, but hearing her reason for changing her career path gave her even more reason to be proud. B realized and appreciated how much her therapist has helped her in her life, and she wants to do that for others. B says, ” I’m more of a people- person than an animal-person!”
We are excited to see this match continue to flourish as they remain committed to navigating new norms as B heads off to college, and growing in their friendship through all of life’s stages!
